ABOUT US

The Chatt Centre is a community centre that was originally funded by Networking the Nation.  It has been in existence since 2002 and has formed relationships with YP Employment, Anglicare, Wakefield Health, the District Council of Yorke Peninsula, Rural Training, local business's and individuals.  It holds community training sessions on many aspects of computer use from the beginner to the advanced user.  As well as offering computing courses the Chatt Centre has now branched out to more interesting workshops, covering things such as quilting, wooden toy making, interior design, theatre workshops, tai chi and many more.  If there is something that you are interested in please let us know and we will try and arrange for it to happen.

Being a community centre we would love you to use our facility to host your meetings or activities or for you to make some suggestions of things you think we could be doing.  Community centres become vibrant centres when the community accesses and inputs into the centre.  Don't forget all our equipment is available to the general public for hire, including the TV, VCR and DVD player.

Don't forget our 'facilities & equipment for hire' and are available to the general public ,for example the TV, VCR and DVD player.

As well as the Chatt Centre itself we have two fantastic satellite projects on site.  The first one is the Maitland Markets where local art and craft produce and supplies are for sale and the second is the Men's Shed, where you can come and do some wood working or metal work.

Situated behind the Chatt Centre is the Men's Shed. A community resource for those with an interest in woodwork or metalwork, to come and work on community or personal projects.

Also in the Heart of Maitland is the Maitland Markets open Thursday's  & Friday's,
featuring local Craft and Produce displayed in the old shop fronts of Maitland from yesteryear. Definitely worth a look. For more information on workshops or anything else happening at the centre, call (08) 8832 2174
